Kuwaiti men during a traditional
dance .
The
Kuwaiti man wears a long white garment...the dishdasa... the
Arabic traditional garment, while on his head he puts a black
cord (the ghatra) that holds a white veil.
The Kuwaiti is cultured, beautiful, sport-loving, kind and hospitable,
ready to help a woman when she is in need. He loves perfumes,
and he spares no expense in order to buy the "bokour",
a perfumed incense, that he offers to his guests when they enter
his house.
When an Arab wants to say the best compliment to a woman,
he will call her "Quamar " (Moon).

Kuwaiti
men love their yachts and if they have to purchase the furnishing
of their boats, they will spare no expense.
.
Woman in Kuwait.

In Kuwait City you will
notice how graceful are women (the mohajaba) with their knotted
veils, l'hijab.
Kuwaiti women love the
European and American way of life. They adore western restaurants
and the shopping. At the same time they are attached to their
traditions and their family.
The Kuwaiti woman is the
real boss of the family; husband and sons are afraid of her.
She is the one who chooses between the traditional veil and
the western fashions.
Kuwaiti young women, that
study in Europe and America, seldom accept the veil.
The kuwaiti woman love spending
their time with friends. Their favourite drink is the shai,
the arabic coffe. Women have a lot of free time and many
servants who look after their children and mind their large
houses.
Women are generous and
friendly; they love giving expensive gifts to their friends.
Lately they have suffered a great defeat. The Kuwaiti
Parliament, composed of men, has denied them the franchise.
But the victory is just postponed I'm sure that soon they will
obtain the right to vote. Women can be so bellicose!...
